February 20 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
In the depths of winter with the shorter days, now is a good time to brush up on your night navigation skills. With this course you’ll have the skills to aid you so you don’t get caught out walking off the hills in the dark.
A basic level of navigation skills is needed as we will build on these. You will learn how to walking on a bearing, use contours and understanding pacing and timing.
As well as equipping you for the night, the skills learnt will be useful for when you’re navigating in poor visibility in the day.
We will meet at the junction of the Wessenden Head rd and the A635, for around 3 hours of wandering around finding features and practicing skills.
Prepare for the weather. You will need to bring:
– Warm Jacket
– Backpack for these
– Any snacks you may need
– Drink (it maybe cold so perhaps bring a flask)
– Headtorch is essential
We can provide:
