8 week Mindfulness/Forest Bathing

Join us for our 8 week Mindfulness programme to dedicate time to your wellbeing and learn skills to cope with the stress of modern day life.

“My breath is my anchor, my anchor is my breath”.

Rooted in our passion for the outdoors our 8 week Mindfulness course will be run as a Forest Bathing retreat. We will provide time to not only learn the skills to cope with modern day life and live in the present moment through modern meditation techniques, but also to learn how to enjoy the health benefits of being outdoors too.

Delivered by Emily Thompson, a qualified mindfulness instructor who also has a Diploma in Shinrin Yoku.

All sessions start at 6pm and will cover:

Week one: 3rd June

Looking at Automatic Pilot and Doing v Being. We will focus on bringing you into the present moment and techniques for returning to this when you find your mind drifts elsewhere.

Week Two: 10th June

Dealing with Barriers with the Breath. Learning how to use the Body Scan for focusing attention and adopting a home practice.

Week Three: 17th June

Mindfulness and Movement. Learning how to use Mindful Movement to focus your attention on the present moment.

Week Four: 24th June

Reviewing how we stay present. Learning how to avoid getting wrapped up in the story of our lives and the emotions attached to this

Week Five: 1st July

Allowing/ Letting it Be. Looking at how we turn toward difficulties and not allow them to affect us physically as well as mentally

Week Six: 8th July

Thoughts are not facts. Using what you’ve learnt to disconnect from sounds and thoughts.

Week Seven: 15th July

Choiceless Awareness. Looking at those activities which nourish and those which deplete you and the emotions attached to these. 

Week Eight: 22nd July

Bringing it all together we will close the course with a review and steps you can continue to take to embed mindfulness in your life.

The course will be delivered as a small face to face group so we are better able to share experiences authentically. You will be provided with support materials each week to help you to focus during the week on practices we have covered. You will also have ongoing support through email as required.

All attendees of the 8 week programme are invited to attend the Friday morning monthly Forest Bathing sessions for free whilst they are on the programme – though you do need to book on.

Breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness, which unites your body to your thoughts. Whenever your mind becomes scattered, use your breath as the means to take hold of your mind again.
