National Navigation Bronze Award

Training and Assessment

The NNAS Bronze course is an entry level navigation course, delivered over 12 hours and is aimed at individuals with no prior navigation experience.

Learn to navigate in the countryside using paths, tracks and other linear features. The course covers basic map interpretation and compass work. By the end of the course you will be confident to undertake countryside and low level walks anywhere in the UK.

The Bronze award covers a mix of indoor exercises to build skills and outside navigation practice, so be prepared to be out on the hill for some of the time – whatever the weather!

We don’t expect you to have any navigation experience prior to the course.

Course dates:

2nd, 9th and 16th May, 5.30pm – 9.30pm Marsden, West Yorkshire

29th and 30th June – 10am – 4pm – Dovestone Reservoir, Greater Manchester

26th and 27th October 2019 – Dovestone Reservoir, Greater Manchester

2nd and 3rd November 2019 – 10am – 4pm – in conjunction with – location to be announced!!

All courses cost £75 per person for the two days and need a minimum of 4 people to run.
