Who we are

Tinkadventures was established to help individuals to develop their personal skills to enjoy their own adventures.

Tinkadventures started when Emily qualified as a summer Mountain Leader in 2012. Since then she has gone on to qualify as a Winter Mountain Leader and International Mountain Leader.

She has over 10 years experience working in the outdoors, training people in outdoor skills and leading groups on adventures.

She is a qualified Mindfulness Instructor, passionate about sharing that the outdoors can benefit the mind and not just the body. She is also a provider for the National Navigation Award Scheme and Mountain Training hill and mountain skills courses.

Being outdoors is an addiction for Emily. She loves inspiring people to be outdoors and seeing them get hooked on the bug of adventure that only self-reliance in the elements can bring.

There is nothing like the feeling of the wind on your face (even if it comes with rain) to make you feel alive – it’s a perfect ‘reset button’ to the hazards of modern life.

She has been a proud Ordnance Survey Champion since 2017, promoting ways to access the outdoors. If you want to check out the GetOutside website you can find it here.

I’ll never forget the girl from inner city Manchester who was excited to be in the mist on the top of the Langdale Pike’s in the Lake District, as she could ‘touch the sky’.

Emily is a regular hiker, fell and ultra runner and mountaineer. She also loves to travel and experiencing new cultures, and so if you’re interested in what else she get up to you can check out her blog under the Adventures menu. Here you’ll find everything from Jungles in Cambodia, submitting 6000m peaks in Nepal and Bolivia and first ascents expeditions in Kyrgyzstan.

She is currently a Director on the board of Mountain Training Trust who run Plas y Brenin, and has previously been on the board of Mountain Training UKI and also the BMC’s charity Access and Conservation Trust. She is also a trainee Dog handler in her local Mountain Rescue Team, a team she’s been involved in for 15 years.

Jared’s real passion is climbing and mountaineering. He loves inspiring others to learn skills and confidence climbing on crags and mountain routes. He is a fully qualified and insured Mountain Leader and a Rock Climbing Instructor.
