Being outdoors is more than just exploring new places and looking after your physical health. The outdoors is well known to be a great place to improve your mental wellbeing too.
Mindfulness is the practice of meditating to be in the present moment and meditating outside is an easy way to disconnect from life pressures and centre yourself here and now.
The use of nature and outdoor space in meditation has been proven to provide major health benefits, such as lowering blood pressure, reducing stress and anxiety and boosting your immune system.
Forest Bathing, or Shinrin Yoku, originated in Japan where it was developed in the 1980s after studies found that forest bathing positively creates calming neuro-psychological effects through changes in the nervous system, reducing the stress hormone cortisol and boosting the immune system.
Here at Tinkadventures we want everyone to enjoy the benefits of the outdoors, so our mindfulness walks, forest bathing sessions and meditations are accessible to all. The sessions are about disconnecting from life’s pressures and stress, and reconnecting with nature and grounding yourself.
All our mindfulness activities are delivered by Emily, a qualified mindfulness instructor.
Our regular mindfulness walks are held around West Yorkshire and provide an opportunity for everyone to connect with nature and disconnect from life.
It’s important our mindfulness walks are accessible to all, wherever possible.
Connecting with trees provides a profound rebalance to the body’s hormones.
We provide sessions across West Yorkshire, enabling all to enjoy the benefits of the ancient art of Shinrin Yoku.
We are also able to provide tailored sessions for workplaces – where employers are keen to ensure the mental wellbeing of their employees. Get in touch to discuss tailoring something for your workplace.
